Wow- the past week has really flown by. So we will rewind to cover the highlights of Luciana's first Christmas extravaganza. It all started on the 20th when we went to Oconomowoc for church. We visited my dad's church, so he was able to be the proud grandpa for the morning, holding Luciana throughout the service. (It was the children's Christmas pageant so he did not have as many responsibilities.) We also were there to see Carolyn's aunt, uncle, and cousin. We visited with them after the service, and they were able to meet Luciana.
On Christmas Eve, Luciana put on her fancy Christmas dress, and we bundled up and headed to our church. Then we came home and we had a great dinner with Grandma B, Grandma C, and Uncle Brice. Then Luciana opened a present from Grandma C- a personalized Twas the Night Before Christmas read by her very own grandma!
The next morning was slightly uneventful in Luciana's eyes- she slept most of the morning, while the rest of her family celebrated Christmas with opening stockings, eating cinnamon rolls, and opening presents. We at least got her to wake up briefly to "open" her stocking. By mid afternoon she woke up, put on her first Christmas outfit, and began to open her presents. We look forward to next year when she will actually be a bit more excited about her gifts, because this year she did not seem all that impressed.
Elisa's family came over that evening, along with Nephew Adam, and had dinner and played games.
The day after, we drove to Oconomowoc to see Elisa's dad and Sue, along with the rest of her family. Luciana enjoyed time being held by everyone there. Then we got in the car and drove down to Zion, IL to see Carolyn's sister, her family, and some friends. We stayed there for the night and the following day. It is always great to see them, as they love her so much and spoil her as well.
All in all it was one of the best Christmas's ever, and we are thankful that we have wonderful families that are so close to us.
