So the first year of visiting Santa was not as exciting as we thought it might be- Luci was still an infant and slept through the whole thing. But she DID look adorable in her slightly too big outfit. So last year we thought it would be way more fun because she was mobile, and easy going. Well she was terrified, as most young ones are, and the image we captured was very non-happy to say the least. So this year we have been gearing up for it- mentioning all the Santa figures we see in people's lawns, commenting on how nice Santa is, and how much we like him. We thought it helped that Santa was featured in the Diego Christmas special, and Luciana is particularly fond of Diego. So we took her on Thursday night, in honor of her adoption day. She was all excited- running down the mall, yapping away about Christmas and Santa and lights, etc. Until she got close to Santa. Then she slammed on the breaks and got REAL quiet. For those of you that know Luciana well, you know that quiet is not her usual demeanor. So Elisa walked up to Santa with her, and Carolyn captured it all with the camera. The good news- she actually sat ON his lap and did not scream or start bawling. The bad news is that she still was not overly thrilled with this giant man in red with lots of white hair all over the place. We did manage to whisper Ho, Ho, Ho to him, and to tell him Merry Christmas, which is a milestone we guess. We will see how it goes next year.....
