Her first birthday was a success! We had planned an evening at the Madison Children's Museum and dinner at Noodles, but that changed once we showed up at the museum and it was closed for the evening! So we went with our next best alternative which was Chuck E Cheese. It was a good time- pizza, lights, music, and rides! Luciana seemed to enjoy herself, and even "won" a hammer, balloon, and stickers! She was exhausted when we got home, but she perked up again once we put a cupcake in front of her. She picked the frosting off, smooshed it, tasted it, and then crumbled the cake part. She probably took a total of 5 bites before spreading it around all over the towel.
On the following Saturday she had her party. She was the star of the day, decked out with her birthday dress, birthday hat (that she only kept on for a few seconds at a time), piggy tails, and a big smile. It was such a great day and so much fun to have everyone there to celebrate in her life thus far.
